Blooming
This painting was inspired by a diagnosis of a heart abnormality to someone very close to me. There is so much uncertainty and hope when finding out this news. I poured my heart into this blooming heart of my hope for a good future.

Sea Travels
This painting was inspired by my relationship with my oldest sister and our common favorite animal being turtles.
Like many of my paintings I start in one direction then go in a different direction. When I began this painting the sea turtle was heading towards the ocean on the beach, but I ended up switching direction to better display the shell/ocean scene in the shell.

Womanhood
This painting was inspired when I was beginning my journey on motherhood and becoming a young woman at the age of 19. I felt confused in my body. I felt powerful, fertile, strong like the mountains, in my body that I can create life and all the amazing things a woman body is. I also felt confused, delicate, and foreign in my own body that has gone through so many changes in the past year.
Material: Acrylic paint, water color, and oil.

Oxygen
This painting was inspired by my grandpa who I lost early due to him smoking cigarettes his whole life. He was my best friend and it was one of the hardest loss I have experienced. I wanted to create something beautiful from a death that was so ugly. I created the lungs, but had trees blossoming out of them giving them oxygen again.
Material: Acrylic paint and water color.

Entity
This painting was inspired by one day when I was laying in bed listening to one of my favorite rap artists. I started sketching what I saw in my head and later that week began painting it.
